Last updated: July 20, 2026

1. Your account

You must provide accurate information when you sign up and are responsible for keeping your credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity that happens under your account. You must be at least 16 years old to use openstem.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use openstem for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these terms.
  • Attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service.
  • Scrape, resell, or redistribute content in ways that infringe others' rights.
  • Upload content you don't have the right to share.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the collections, flashcards, notes, sketches, flowcharts, plots, molecules and quizzes you create. You grant us a limited license to host and display that content solely to provide the service, including, where you choose to share or make content public, displaying it to other users. You're responsible for the content you create and share.

4. Content accuracy

openstem's library includes content created by openstem and by other users. We do not review, verify, or guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content on the platform, including community-created collections, flashcards, notes, sketches, flowcharts, plots, molecules and quizzes. Content is provided for study and reference only and is not a substitute for your own coursework, textbooks, or instructor guidance. You use any content at your own risk; openstem is not liable for loss or damage arising from inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated content.

5. Copyright and takedowns

We respect intellectual-property rights and expect our users to do the same. If you believe content on openstem infringes your copyright, send a notice to openstem.app@gmail.com that includes: your contact information; identification of the copyrighted work and of the infringing material (with enough detail for us to locate it); a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized; a statement, under penalty of perjury, that your notice is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorized to act on their behalf; and your signature. We will remove or disable access to infringing material, notify the user who posted it, and accept counter-notices. We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers.

6. Service availability

We work hard to keep openstem available and reliable, but the service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features from time to time. Some jurisdictions don't allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so some of the above may not apply to you.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, openstem will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Some jurisdictions don't allow the limitation of certain liabilities, so some of the above may not apply to you.

8. Disputes

If a dispute arises, please first contact us at openstem.app@gmail.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll notify you. Continuing to use openstem after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.
