Chemistry · L5 · CuAAC Click Reaction (Azide-Alkyne Cycloaddition)

A copper(I)-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition: an ethyl azide and propargyl alcohol join into a single 1,4-disubstituted 1,2,3-triazole. This is the bioorthogonal reaction used to conjugate a fluorophore or biotin reporter onto an activity-based probe's small in-cell-compatible azide/alkyne handle after labeling is complete.
